Abundant, Clean, and Safe
YOUTUBE.COM -- PRAGERU -- [ISMAILI DIGEST ED: Hazar Imam, 2010: "I am in favour of the widespread distribution of civilian nuclear power.... My sense is we are looking to the future for a massive increase in nuclear use around the world. [We] don't have an alternative."] ARTICLE: France gets 70% of its power from one carbon-free source. Sweden 40%. Switzerland 36%. The United States 20%. For those who wish to create a world free of carbon emissions, France is clearly the role model. That source of energy, by the way, is not solar or wind. It's not coal, oil, or natural gas, either. It's nuclear. Nuclear energy is not only cleaner than all other forms of energy. It's also cheaper to create, abundant, and safe. Yes, safe. So, if the world is going to end in a few years because of global warming ...

New Saturday Series: The Best of Africa Ismaili
After an unavoidable hiatus, today we commence a new Saturday Series, the "Best of Africa Ismaili" collection. Founded and edited by Rai A.M. Sadaruddin, Africa Ismaili was a weekly magazine published in Nairobi from 1969 to 1973. During these few years it established itself as one of the premier magazines of Ismaili affairs, research and history published anywhere in the world. It received universal praise and accolades from all quarters, including Mawlana Hazar Imam, members of the Noorani Family, Ismaili and non-Ismaili scholars and, of course, the Jamat, the world over, for whom it was published. Following its demise, Rai Sadaruddin published over 150 of its best articles in the highly acclaimed 11 volume series "Best of Africa Ismaili: A Collection of Articles of Permanent Value." We are pleased to bring this collection for the reading pleasure and knowledge of the Jamat.

AGAKHANSTUDS.COM -- In the summer of 1921, the Aga Khan approached the Honourable George Lambton to ask him if he would take some horses. Reincarnation or Companionship on High?
An article by Imam Hazrat Mowlana Sultan Mahomed Shah (s.a.s.) Aga Khan III The Christian burial ceremony and the prayers then said by the presiding ecclesiastics refer to resurrection in a way that implies some kind of similarity with the supposed historical resurrection of Christ three days after his death. There is the undoubted implication in the Burial Service that a ...

Tuesday's Teachings (From Life)
What Is Manliness?
ARTOFMANLINESS.COM -- While there are some ageless principles of manliness, characteristics celebrated by hundreds of different cultures in many different eras, some of the ideals of manhood have varied across peoples and time periods.... The definition of manliness clearly needs to be rooted in a firm and immovable foundation. One that works across time, place, and culture and is attainable for any man, in any situation. While the definition of manliness has been endlessly discussed and dissected in scholarly tomes, my definition of manliness is actually quite straightforward. And ancient. Manliness as ...

Think of Ismaili Digest as the Front Page of all the best Ismaili websites! Ismaili Digest automatically and continuously brings together all new articles, photos, videos, etc. from Ismaili websites -- like The Ismaili, Simerg, IIS, NanoWisdoms, AKDN, Ismailimail, etc. -- so you can see them all at once. Direct links to over 15,000 web-pages from the best Ismaili websites already available. Ismaili Digest saves you (and those who are not tech savvy, such as seniors) the effort of having to visit them one by one to keep up to date, or have your inbox cluttered with emails from each of them when they publish new content. In a busy world, our sense of belonging to our community sometimes tends to wither and fade (particularly for isolated Jamati members). We hope Ismaili Digest's simplicity and comprehensiveness will help you feel connected as well as feel the local and global pulse of the community. Like many other non-commercial, public-service thematic website aggregators, Ismaili Digest is just a thematic aggregator. We publish short 50-60 word digests of all their content and provide direct links to their original pages saving you time, extra page loads and clicks. For the website publishers, direct links ensure they'll get the maximum number of potential visitors reaching their content so their hard work gets the maximum exposure. Also featured are other important articles, research and opinions relevant to the community's well being, intellectual growth, best practises and administration. And all served with a drop of humour as well, because "we are a community that welcomes the smile!" Ismaili Digest is not associated with any private Ismaili website, whether aggregated by Ismaili Digest or not. All websites Ismaili Digest aggregates are independent websites run by their individual owners and we are not responsible for content they publish. |
