OZANVAROL.COM -- 1. It often takes a beginner's mind to enable revolutionary changes.... 2. If you do anything new, the world will try to beat you into conformity.... Fosbury was no ordinary athlete. He was a contrarian. He prided himself on disrupting conventional wisdom, taking risks, and exploring new possibilities.... A newspaper called him "The World's Laziest High Jumper." ... New Saturday Series: The Best of Africa Ismaili
After an unavoidable hiatus, today we commence a new Saturday Series, the "Best of Africa Ismaili" collection. Founded and edited by Rai A.M. Sadaruddin, Africa Ismaili was a weekly magazine published in Nairobi from 1969 to 1973. During these few years it established itself as one of the premier magazines of Ismaili affairs, research and history published anywhere in the world. It received universal praise and accolades from all quarters, including Mawlana Hazar Imam, members of the Noorani Family, Ismaili and non-Ismaili scholars and, of course, the Jamat, the world over, for whom it was published. Following its demise, Rai Sadaruddin published over 150 of its best articles in the highly acclaimed 11 volume series "Best of Africa Ismaili: A Collection of Articles of Permanent Value." We are pleased to bring this collection for the reading pleasure and knowledge of the Jamat.

Clearing Up Misunderstandings about Private Ismaili Websites | Ismaili Digest's Team Talks to You
"It was very satisfying to hear Hazar Imam and President Talib have such confidence, respect, and trust in the private Ismaili media publishers, and value our work that President Talib wished to set up relationships with us and Hazar Imam gave him guidance on how to structure the relationships.... I think the institutions and the Jamat are really not aware of the thousands of hours of passionate work reliable private Ismaili web publishers put, voluntarily, into their websites each year with no other motive than a deep and sincere desire to help the Jamat, which these websites do in countless ways that may not be always appreciated."

VIDEO: Why Mawlana Hazar Imam rejects relativism outright and why it confuses our youth about our values | Ignition Proposal
PART 2 -- In this two-part series we ask, "Are your values aligned with Hazar Imam's?" by looking at what are and are not our values. In Part 1 we looked at a fatal misunderstanding that prevents us from making the value judgments Hazar Imam insists we make. Here, in Part 2, we take a deep dive into relativism which Hazar Imam rejects unequivocally and which we feel is the #1 issue facing all faith-based communities, including ours, today. We explain what relativism is, its origins, how it surreptitiously infects society and why it is the source of almost all the issues not aligned with our faith's values that leads our youth to question our values. When faith is undermined, Hazar Imam says, "everything goes with it: the family, society, the individual, the intelligence." In this presentation we show how, after rejecting faith, relativism corrupts everything it touches: religion, morals and values, education, intelligence, and more.

The Death of Expertise: Why a Few Generalists Will Rule the Future of Work
MAYOOSHIN.COM -- Greek poet Archilochus noted that "The fox knows many things, but the hedgehog knows one big thing." There was a time in history when foxes (polymaths) were bred and celebrated by society. It was called the Renaissance. After it, the polymath became an endangered species. But the last few decades we have witnessed the rebirth of the polymath as leading public figures: Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk. All signs point to an unprecedented period in human history, that will give birth to a new breed of polymaths surpassing those of the Renaissance. ...

Think of Ismaili Digest as the Front Page of all the best Ismaili websites! Ismaili Digest automatically and continuously brings together all new articles, photos, videos, etc. from Ismaili websites -- like The Ismaili, Simerg, IIS, NanoWisdoms, AKDN, Ismailimail, etc. -- so you can see them all at once. Direct links to over 15,000 web-pages from the best Ismaili websites already available. Ismaili Digest saves you (and those who are not tech savvy, such as seniors) the effort of having to visit them one by one to keep up to date, or have your inbox cluttered with emails from each of them when they publish new content. In a busy world, our sense of belonging to our community sometimes tends to wither and fade (particularly for isolated Jamati members). We hope Ismaili Digest's simplicity and comprehensiveness will help you feel connected as well as feel the local and global pulse of the community. Like many other non-commercial, public-service thematic website aggregators, Ismaili Digest is just a thematic aggregator. We publish short 50-60 word digests of all their content and provide direct links to their original pages saving you time, extra page loads and clicks. For the website publishers, direct links ensure they'll get the maximum number of potential visitors reaching their content so their hard work gets the maximum exposure. Also featured are other important articles, research and opinions relevant to the community's well being, intellectual growth, best practises and administration. And all served with a drop of humour as well, because "we are a community that welcomes the smile!" Ismaili Digest is not associated with any private Ismaili website, whether aggregated by Ismaili Digest or not. All websites Ismaili Digest aggregates are independent websites run by their individual owners and we are not responsible for content they publish. |
