FitzGerald has been Omar Khayyam. Robert Graves, the prominent English poet, was chosen by Omar Ali-Shah, a Persian scholar whose family owns a twelfth-century manuscript of the Rubaiyat, to render a new, more faithful, English translation which was published last year.
