THEATLANTIC.COM -- Women's religiosity can have tangible consequences on the lives of families. A new report [2016] from the Pew Research Center suggests mothers have more influence on their children's religious upbringings than fathers, especially in interfaith households. One-third of respondents said their mom was more responsible for their religious experiences than their dad. In families with parents of mixed religious backgrounds, the percentage was well more than half. According to Pew, nearly half of people who grew up in interfaith households now practice their mom's faith, compared to less than a third who practice their dad's. In a lot of families, these patterns ...

"I believe that one test of real leadership is whether or not policies are nuanced and flexible so as to allow each situation to assessed on its own merits. I think this is especially important today, when change is coming at ever increasing breakneck speeds, placing a premium on flexibility and adaptability because, frankly, today there is no time for dogmatic, rigid, and inflexible policies, as Hazar himself has explained. Nuanced policies, based on 'empathetic knowledge' require, of course, openness to view the situation from the other side and then the confidence and courage to make a 'competent, intelligent, nuanced and sophisticated analysis' of the situation."

YOUTUBE.COM -- Inspired by his story, Will Smith played Chris Gardner in "The Pursuit of Happiness." Chris was a single, homeless father in San Francisco, struggling to pay rent and daycare. He and his 2-year old son slept in parks, airports, motels and, during their darkest moments, on the floor of a train station bathroom. Despite working long hours, Chris could barely afford an apartment. "I was homeless, but I wasn't hopeless." Everything changed after a chance encounter with a man in a red Ferrari. The man was Bob Bridges, one of San Francisco's top stock brokers. The two hit off and soon Bob was helping Chris find work and finally scored an interview for a job at a brokerage firm. (Continued ...)
YOUTUBE.COM -- (Continued ...) But after making it through the interview, he was instead offered a job as an intern. Hungry for an opportunity, Chris jumped at the position ready to learn. There is no Plan B for passion. After work, Chris had to mow lawns and clean basements to support himself and his son. Both father and son lined up at soup kitchens and slept wherever they could for an entire year. They were even taken in by a women's homeless shelter who took pity on them. Chris' hard work at the firm eventually paid off when they offered him a full-time job. "This part of my life ... this little part ... is called "Happiness.'" ...

MINDMATTERS.AI -- Today, we know much more about what happens when we die -- and what we are learning does not support materialism. What's remarkable is people who have near death experiences come back with amazing stories. Like the young lady born blind and rushed to the emergency room after a car accident. She finds herself hovering over a group of doctors frantically working on a lady which she didn't immediately recognize was herself. After she was resuscitated, she shared her story and reminded them, "I'm a blind person and can tell you everything that went on in the operating room." Many report taking a journey through walls and down a tunnel with a light at the end, what I would call ...

GOOGLE.COM -- Born in Cairo in 470/1076, Imam al-Hadi assumed the Imamat at age 20. Before his arrest, it appears that Imam al-Nizar managed to send his successor, al-Hadi, to the Maghrib from where Imam al-Hadi and his entourage made a long journey to the vicinity of Rudhbar, Iran. Since Alamut was stormed by the Seljuqs at that time, Imam al-Hadi concealled himself either in Rudhbar or some other remote place. Once peace was restored, he was taken to the vicinity of Alamut, whose location was only known to Hasan bin Sabbah. This began the second dawr-i satr in Ismaili history during which three Imams lived in concealment: Imam al-Hadi, Imam al-Muhtadi and Imam al-Qahir. During this time, Ismaili hujjats ...
